Web Portal Platform

We have recently decided to redevelop our company website and split to 7 separate sites each one dedicated to a specific solution or service. So how the software company thinks when having to develop 7 web sites for itself?

The first thing is to follow standards. We looked at Internet and studied several of existing major web platforms. Every one of them has its strong and weak sides. There were reasons to use and then also reasons not to use them.

We needed a simple platform, Windows based, that would give us freedom to do what we wanted. We needed a fast web site, Google friendly, something that would make a great tool for web developers.

We didn't find one that matched all our criteria. So, we decided to develop our own web development platform. This web site is dedicated to our Web Portal platform - our solution that gives us all we wanted from the web platform. This web site has been developed using the platform.

 So what have we achieved? Here are some simple facts:

• We acknowledge the fact that most companies have Windows servers, SQL Databases and that most web developers have skills in the windows environment. So, we have built the web portal platform for the Windows environment.
• The platform has been built specifically for web developers. The only technical knowledge required is to understand HTML, CSS and SQL what every web developer already does. 
• We have built the platform using Microsoft's Dot Net and C#. This makes it internally tick and work but you don't have to know any of those tools. 
• Contents of the portal is database driven and it can easily draw contents from different databases.
• Once you install it on your server you are ready to go.
• The web design is clean and Google friendly

Our web portal has already proven itself by helping us to develop seven of our web sites. We were able to configure the site easilly , manage contents, dynamically create components, add plug-ins from the Internet, access databases etc.  And as a result we have got quick, clean and Google friendly web sites.
